What is TRI Scholars Academy?
Our TRI Scholars Academy is not a traditional summer program, it's an initiative formulated after the pillars of HEOP - Trust, Respect, and Integrity. These are not just words, but expectations and behaviors that define our Village. The Academy is a unique place where individuals come together to seek knowledge, and membership demands that they TRI.
We believe in preparing our students for the expectations of university life. That's why all HEOP students are required to participate in our comprehensive five-week summer program. This program not only provides an orientation to life at 麻豆国产AV but also offers opportunities for personal growth. It's a rigorous educational experience that will set you up for success in your academic journey.聽
Academic Experience
As a TRI Scholar, you will quickly become familiar with the academic environment, which is characterized by small class sizes, personalized attention from faculty, and a supportive learning community. You will have an opportunity to earn credits that will benefit you during your academic career and enhance your understanding of how to be an exemplary student in and out of the classroom. Your role in this learning adventure will be active and participatory, with a focus on critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration.聽
During the summer, in addition to improving basic skills in mathematics, career readiness, reading, and writing, workshops will also explore themes of self-improvement.
Social Experience
While residing in the residence halls, students will navigate through various personal and social demands, mirroring the college experience. To ensure a well-rounded journey, social outings will provide a much-needed balance and relief from the intense, academically focused program, offering the students a complete college experience. Our students have enjoyed outings partaking in community service, building relationships through rock climbing, and learning the importance of self-care at Niagara Falls State Park.
Time Commitment
The TRI Scholars Academy will take place this year from July 7 - August 9
Scholars should plan their summer calendar around the academy dates. During the TRI Scholars Academy, students reside on campus and participate in all activities as a community. Family vacations and medical appointments should be scheduled either before or after the Academy. The HEOP staff is sensitive and considerate of any learning, health, or religious accommodations needed by students while participating in the Academy.
